THE LIVING FIGURE, SEEN AGAIN
The Forgotten Art Project is our continuing body of work around the developed physique as an artistic subject. The years that built the body are already there before we make a photograph. Our work is to create images that let that form stand with the seriousness we believe it deserves, closer to sculpture than ordinary fitness imagery.
This short film introduces The Forgotten Art Project. For the full experience, turn the sound on and watch it full screen. The narration and music are part of the work.

THE PROJECT
The project grew from a question that kept returning in our work: what happens when we look at a developed physique as a subject for art?
For a long time, artists studied athletes and the developed body to understand anatomy, proportion and movement. Later, physical culture and bodybuilding looked back toward sculpture. Posing, symmetry and presentation carried some of that visual language forward.
That connection never disappeared. It became easier to overlook as the body was increasingly seen through competition, sponsorship, advertising and social media. Our work returns to the figure itself and asks what becomes visible when some of that surrounding information becomes quieter.
THE FORGOTTEN ART PROJECT
The work begins with a body already shaped by years of discipline. We photograph what is there, then build the image around the way we see it.
SEE YOUR PHYSIQUE THROUGH OUR EYES
What would it look like if the years of work carried in your physique were given the artistic weight they deserve?
INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING?
We occasionally invite selected physiques into The Forgotten Art Project when a particular body, presence or story fits the work we are developing.
